Road to San Diego...Road to a Cure
...if you really and sincerely want to do something (and wholeheartedly, with the whole of your sincerest self) it is by doing that that you will be the most useful, will be giving the most, will be of most individual value.
-Anne Morrow Lindbergh Thank you so much for visiting my site! As many of you know, and as many of you are about to discover, I am in the process of training for the Rock 'n Roll marathon that is to be held in San Diego, CA on 1 June 2003. In January a quite good friend of mine (which I invite all of you to "peruse" her site as well) and I committed to participate in this event. Training to run/walk a marathon (26.2 miles!!), however, is only part of the story. The greater purpose at hand is to raise money for cancer research and to increase awareness of its prevalence in our time and in the lives of those we love. There are many ways of becoming involved in the fight against cancer. While some people find it necessary to spend countless hours running in the frigid darkness of winter mornings, there are other venues that might appeal to the more sane individual. Financial contributions, of course, are always welcome, and will help tremendously in achieving my personal fundraising goal. Words of encouragement will prove to be vital in the coming months, as will a great deal of patience (those of you who know what I am like "sleep-deprived" stand as my witness). Please involve yourself in this fight in any way possible. This page is designed to keep you informed of my training, to see just what "she's" up to these days, and, most importantly, to extend the opportunity to become directly involved in cancer research to a broader community.
